I have been working with young athletes for the last 11 years and representing South Africa for the last 17 years in a few sports . I started my weightlifting career at the age of 12 and it has opened many doors for me from sport to life as well as university. I am a qualified B-Psych Sport Psychology and mental skills coach , Weightlifting and CrossFit Coach . My passion is working with the youth and anyone wanting to better their Olympic weightlifting .  Guiding you into a program with good form and proper motivational  coaching .  I have been a 3 x world champion in karate and a CrossFit games athlete as well as an Olympic weightlifter competing internationally for the last 16 years . I have competed at 3 common wealth games , world champs and held the youth commonwealth record . I think I can safely say weight training is in my blood as I got the passion from my dad . He started me at an age of 12 in order to increase my speed and explosive power , I later on started coaching young athletes and teaching youngsters what I have learnt from years and years of coaching from some of the best international coaches in the world .

I have been passionate about health, fitness and nutrition for as long as I can remember.  Growing up I was a competitive volleyball player, and after school I turned to racing (5k, 10k, 1/2 marathon) and triathlons to fulfill that desire to continue competing.  I started Crossfit in 2013 with my husband and his ODA and instantly fell in love with the sport.  While I feel so blessed to be a part of this community where I am able to continue to compete and grow as an athlete, coaching our members/athletes and helping them obtain their individual goals is far more rewarding.  The relationships that I have developed with my athletes and nutrition clients are among my most treasured.

“HARD WORK BEATS TALENT WHEN TALENT DOESN’T WORK HARD.” This adage is the crux of what has always drawn me to training and athletics. Admittedly awkward on land in my youth, I took to the pool. Competitive swimming carried me through high school, college, and eventually to my first coaching job. In pursuit of a new athletic focus after my swimming career ended, I spent time training in a number of different disciplines (marathons, yoga, triathlons, bro lifting, group fitness, spinning, etc). But it wasn’t until I encountered the intensity, community, challenge and empowerment of CrossFit that I found something to fill the fitness and competition spaces in my life. When I started CrossFit, I was a working as a full-time swim coach and I quickly starting to incorporate functional training into our dryland workouts. When I moved to Houston to teach high school English and coach swimming, CrossFit provided an instant community of like-minded athletes with whom I could connect. By the time I moved back to Austin, my training was important enough to me that finding a Box a top priority. I trained at RedSide for a year before joining the staff, and in that time I developed a deep love for the people and energy this space draws. I am so grateful to be able to spend my days working with dedicated, disciplined, goal-oriented people. Working at RedSide and owning Muladhara Yoga is a truly a dream come true for me.     Truly my passion lies in competition, and human movement in all forms.  I have enjoyed a life full of physical pursuits ranging from working as a park ranger, military service, to practicing martial arts.  After the military I decided to formally pursue my passion by attending UT Austin's Kinesiology program.  While at UT I worked at the campus rec center, outdoor department, fitness assessment lab, and worked as a personal trainer.  It wasn't until after college that I attended my first Crossfit class in 2010 and was instantly hooked.  After experiencing the benefits of function fitness first hand, I started coaching in 2011 and never looked back.  Now I enjoy helping clients along their path to better qualities of life achieved through higher levels of fitness.
